Lingering raindrops
sparkling across
window panes break
sunlight into
rainbows for us
to collect in our hands.
Deep brown eyes
sweeping open-ended
whirlpools across
the room hold my
gaze and swallow the
day when all I want
is to be cradled
in her arms.
With burning skin
and aching bones
we let our dreams
dance in sunlight
splashed on sheets,
brown and green
irises glowing
together as we
lay there together from
morning ‘til night.
