Did you know that Jupiter has rings? Voyager 1 discovered them during its flyby of the giant planet, and the Galileo mission to Jupiter examined them more closely. This image of Jupiter’s main ring was taken by the Galileo spacecraft in 1996 through a clear filter. Jupiter actually has a complex ring system, though its rings are thin and more easily observed in the infrared.
